My gift to the world

I want to do something different from the run-of-the-mill activities that most of us carry out until our deaths. I want to do something substantially different, some way to create a better world and a better life. How long will we continue to live through the daily routines? I love routines and no matter how bad I scream at them, I still live by them. But the fact is that we have become so very comfortable in what is given to us that we just refuse to ask back and think different. So what if for decades we Indians were offered only the unemotional Ambassador and the ignorable Padmini? We just lived with them as if destiny had prepared us for this long tryst with an unchangeable wayof life. I want to do something with my life that will leave a trace behind, a trace that this person walked the earth sometime.... A proof that I just did not exist on this earth but lived in it....
We have become live examples of the law of averages that thinking of a modern life threatens to shatter the glass of comfort that we have so well shielded ourselves with. But even as we look around, it is clear that people are no longer the same. Things are changing and the way people look at their lives is changing. We are no longer that good old rustic country glimmering amidst all its traditional finery and laid back way of life. A walk down the crowded street of a metropolitan city in India will leave you dazed for every reason that you could think of. You can clearly see lonely people inspite of being huddled in crowds. On one hand, it is gladdening that we are aspiring for better and more comfortable lives, but, on the other, it is frightening that in the process we have left some of our goodness and nobility in the race for a better life. Somewhere down the line we got so immersed in looking at our speedometers that we just forgot to look at the fuel tank. Life is all about getting that balance.... the amalgam between the good things in life and the nice things in life... It is not important whether we live for 50 years or 5 minutes, what is important is that we live....

Write frequently

I have a new found inspiration in Bearhugs who makes it a point to type out a few of her thoughts every now and then... Everytime I read another post, I wonder why I am not writing.... Well, I hope the drive has come and no matter how busy or not busy I am, I will try to pen down a few thoughts every now and then....
Where there is a will, there has to be some way..... Find the way... God bless...
